We are so looking forward to hearing the national keynote speaker Cathy Seeley in the comfort of the new SAS auditoriums!
This opportunity to explore best practices around the algebra content with peers from all over the Triangle is what true collaboration and professional development is all about!

I definately believe collaboration would be of benefit given the current economic market and job eliminations due to budget shortages. One way to do this could be to create a multi-district team consisting of administrators, and professional development coordinators, curriculum personnel to create an implementation plan with a timeline. The tasks to be completed each step determined could then be divided between districts and posted to a password secured review site for input upon completion. Other districts could then voice any changes or suggestions. Agreement would then be reached by the multi-district CC team. The final product would be posted for all to utilize.

Professional development in various forms could be scheduled and attended by all of the districts. Facilitators could be from across districts and; funding could be shared. This way PD is not repeated by all five districts with a fee paid by each. A platform like Illuminate; or a free site could be used to share online PD through book groups, content alike discussion groups, gather ideas for best practices to use in classrooms for the CC, share articles, share data concerns and gather ideas, connect principal and teacher leaders, share resource ideas, weblinks related to CC goals (use the Cloud).

Perhaps funds could be placed in a TH5 regional pot similiar to what is done with the working group but on a smaller scale.
